Reducing CO₂ emissions is the challenge of our time. However, there are in fact some unavoidable sources of CO₂, such as lime production or waste incineration. bse Methanol has developed a modular solution with which the unavoidable CO₂ can be used to produce green methanol. The processes used in production, from CO₂ capture and electrolysis to the actual synthesis, are well known and are already being used on a large industrial scale. The technical challenge now lies in efficiently linking these individual process steps.

Johann Kirchner, Head of Process Engineering at bse Methanol, explains how all of this can be implemented using dynamic processes, even without complex storage systems, despite the fluctuating availability of wind and solar energy.
